+ Twitter is a service for friends, family, and co–workers to communicate and stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: What are you doing?
+ Twitter keeps you constantly connected with ur friends on the web or on you phone.
+ Twitter allows you to tell the world what you doing, to know what others are doing and to comment on what others has to say. You can send and receive updates and do other Twitter commands via the web, IM and SMS.

:: If you don’t have a Twitter account yet, just follow these simple steps to setup your own Twitter account:
1. Go to the Twitter website
2. Click on the Get Started—Join link.
3. Choose your Twitter Username and fill up the user information with your details. Once you have a Twitter username, your Twitter website will be: http://twitter.com/username
4. Once your account is created, you will be directed to your private Twitter Page where you can modify your setting, add sms/im alerts, upload photo/avatar, post your Twitter updates etc.
5. You now have you Twitter account! You can now Follow Us to be part of PinoyTwitters!
:: What you can do with Twitter:
1. Your Twitter website will display all your updates. People can add/follow you through your “follow me” link on your page.
2. You can change your Twitter username anytime.
3. Check “Protect my updates” if you want your updates to NOT appear on the public timeline and be viewed only by your accepted friends on Twitter. This is a privacy setting which you can modify anytime in the Settings page.
4. You can upload your photo or any avatar.
5. You can customize how your Twitter timeline will look like.
6. You can opt to send/receive updates and do other Twitter commands on your phone or instant messenger.
7. You can follow others to receive their updates and be followed too for others to receive your updates.
8. You can also send direct/private messages to people on your community.
9. You can add Twitter to your website/blog and other pages like MySpace, FaceBook, etc..
10. You can view the recent Twitter updates from random members on the Twitter Public Timeline.
11. See who follows you, by clicking the “Followers” link on the right sidebar.
12. The “Following” link shows you those people you chose to follow. When viewing this page, you can opt in/out to receive these people’s updates on your IM/SMS instead of just in your Twitter Page by clicking the radio button.
13. “Favorites” are people you marked as your favorite.
14. “Direct Messages” is your private message inbox. “Updates” shows your Twitter updates. You can only send direct messages to people on your list.
15. To reply to a friend’s post, just type “@friendsname and it will automatically appear on your timeline and your friend’s timeline. e.g. @pinoytwitters this is so cool!

17. To be able to send/receive updates via SMS, go to Phone & IM and enter you mobile number in this format: + e.g. +639171234567 and click save.
You will be given a code that you will need to activate your mobile number. You have to send that code via sms to the Twitter mobile number.
It is one time and you will be charged only by your local phone company for the international text since there’s no Philippines Twitter number yet. Please note that when you send updates to Twitter via you mobile phone, you will be charged accordingly by you local telco.However, receiving updates from Twitter to your phone is free. Once confirmed, any message you send to twitter from your phone will be added to your Twitter updates.
18. To be able to send/receive updates via IM, go to Phone & IM. If you have an instant messenger like Google Talk or any IM thats part of Jabber, you can add your AIM/Gtalk/Jabber username and click save.
You’ll receive a code that you will need to activate you IM account. Just login to you Instant Messenger, add twitter@twitter.com to your friends list and send the code to it and you’ll receive a confirmation.
Once confirmed, any message you send to twitter on your list will be added to your Twitter updates.
